Proposal for
Textile Circularity Centre

Affinitive Cellulose With Coffee Ground is a innovative proposal of examining how audiences are inspired by the near-future Textile Circular System, featuring a new installation created in direct response to material visualization and narration of the biotech process.

Exhibition Space Design / Interaction Test

In the proposal, we designed a pop-up exhibition in retail space to visualise and let the audience experience the process of textile circulation. We chose coffee ground as a recycle material as UK is one of the country that have the largest consumption of coffee. Spent coffee grounds are dumped into general waste and sent to landfill where they emit methane – a greenhouse gas at least 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide and one of the primary causes of global warming.

The exhibition space is designed in the appearance of a coffee shop with an interactive game for the audience to play with surrounded by tables and seats to discuss and have workshops. Passing the shop front, the audience can use their potion of coffee ground to enter the shop back which is a material library of the actual textile circulation process. During collaboration, my job is to design the overall arrangement of the exhibition and made several scenes in game demo.
